Purpose of the Position

Under the supervision of the Head of Electrical Engineering, the Electrical Drafter is to prepare Electrical drawings and data packages for rugged electronics enclosures and consoles for the Defense Industry.

Key Accountabilities and Duties & Tasks

Within the delegated authority, the position holder may be assigned accountabilities for all or part of the following areas of major duties and key end-results.

  1. Prepare engineering drawings and data packages of moderate complexity for such products as components, hardware, assemblies and equipment.
  1. Using standard practice, candidate must produce/check drawings that will be in accordance with departmental procedure.
  1. Work with Electrical Engineers to complete technical data package.

Qualifications of Successful Candidate

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized accredited University is required.

Work Experience

A minimum of Three (3 years professional work experience in the design, drawing and checking of electrical assemblies, power distribution units for rugged electronics enclosures and consoles or in a similar position is required

Technical Knowledge 

  • To be successful in the position, you must be proficient in AutoCAD Electrical.
  • Familiar with MIL standards.
  • Proven ability to manage, understand and appreciate the values of Quality, Cost and Schedules.

 This position requires Safety Glasses for personal protective equipment when on the shop floor.

Under the supervision of the Engineering Manager, the Mechanical Engineer is to design rugged electronics enclosures and consoles for the Defense Industry.

Within the delegated authority, the position holder may be assigned accountabilities for all or part of the following areas of major duties and key end-results.

  1. Review and analyze customer needs and propose adequate technical solutions.
  2. Design all relevant mechanical structures, leveraging his/her knowledge of sheet metal / machined / extruded parts in bolted / welded assemblies.
  3. Select materials and finishes assuring compliance with specifications and product requirements.
  4. Perform Finite Element Analyses and present results in a written deliverable report.
  5. Perform Computational Fluid Dynamics analyses and present results in a written deliverable report.
  6. Provide technical support to other engineers, Purchasing, suppliers, Quality Control and Production throughout the product development and manufacturing.
  7. Provide technical support to Customers throughout the life of the product.
  8. The Position holder may from time to time be called upon to act as the Project Lead for selective contracts.

  1. Provide technical support to Customers throughout the life of the product.

Under the supervision of the Operations Manager, the Manufacturing Engineer is to take the lead role in the laying out of the manufacturing process and product flow in order to ensure efficient product assembly of rugged electronics enclosures and consoles for the Defense Industry.

Key Accountabilities and Duties & Tasks:

Within the delegated authority, the position holder may be assigned accountabilities for all or part of the following areas of major duties and key end-results.

  • Plans, designs and constructs manufacturing areas and related structures.
  • Determines area specifications, including analysis and evaluation of assembly location, material resources, and structural design.
  • Determines the manufacturing processes required to achieve manufacturing goals according to product specification.
  • Ensure LEAN and Six Sigma manufacturing techniques are incorporated in the engineering manufacturing processes.
  • Runs Kaizens regularly to improve production flow and cycle times.
  • Resolves technical problems and recommends production improvements.
  • Consults with plant and manufacturing personnel to determine tool specifications and requirements.
  • Evaluates tools and machinery to improve quality and performance.

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechanical Engineering, or related Engineering field from a recognized accredited University is required.

Lean Six Sigma Certified Green Belt is required; Master Black Belt is considered a plus..

*A Master’s Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial or Mechanical Engineering is considered a plus.

Work Experience:

A minimum of Five (5) years of professional work experience in Manufacturing, Mechanical or Industrial work environment or a similar position is required.

Two (2) to (4) Four years’ experience in applying LEAN and SIX SIGMA tools and practices in a manufacturing work environment required.

Experience in utilizing Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Software particularly in working with Item Masters, BOM’s and routings

Computer proficient; confident using data analysis programs and Microsoft Office Suite.

Experience using CAD (computer aided design) and CAM (computer aided manufacturing) software considered a major plus.

Technical Knowledge: 

  • Lean Six Sigma Tools and Techniques.
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks™, Simulation™ and Flow™.

POSITION: Purchasing Agent

The post of Purchasing Agent is in 901D’s Purchasing Department; Tallman Office Location, New York.

Purpose of the Position:

Under the direct supervision of the Purchasing Manager, the Purchasing Agent supports the Purchasing Manager in coordinating the procurement of all goods and components for the manufacture of rugged enclosures and consoles for the defense industry. The Purchasing Agent shall be responsible for optimizing the business strategic sourcing and procurement needs.

Key Accountabilities, Duties and Tasks:

  1. Perform analysis to identify new sourcing and other cost optimization opportunities to generate cost savings for assigned categories. Operates with limited supervision and focuses on minimizing cost and maximizing value in the procurement process by applying best/leading practices across areas of responsibility, driving supplier negotiations, spend under contract, benchmarking, and other process improvements and facilitate and lead their implementation.
  2. Seek out cost reduction opportunities and take initiative to achieve savings goals.
  3. Participates and engages cross-functionally with other areas of the company to ensure Procurement initiatives and interests are represented.
  4. Compiles, analyzes and draws conclusions from information gathered for planning, developing and evaluating business programs and operations.
  5. Price negotiations skills
  6. Ensures compliance with policies and programs in alignment with sourcing strategy; and that the appropriate audit trails are embedded in procurement documentation as required for both internal and external audit and performance management purposes.
  7. Prepares and processes purchase requisitions, purchase orders and other activities to meetbusiness expectations and requirements.
  8. Maintain daily list of incoming goods; check bi-weekly list if future goods being brought into the company.
  9. Attend daily production meetings and the weekly backlog meetings.
  10. Manage the Purchasing Department in the absence of the Purchasing Manager.

Qualifications of Successful Candidate:

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Supply Chain Management or Business Administration preferred. Associates Degree with seven (7) years of relevant work experience in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree. Candidates currently pursuing BS degree and have more than eight (8) years relevant work experience in purchasing in manufacturing will also be considered.

Work Experience:

A minimum of Five (5) years of relevant progressively responsible experience in purchasing of goods in a manufacturing environment.

Technical Skills:

  • APICS and/or CPSM certification preferred.
  • MAS 200 Procurement experience is highly desired.
  • ERP experience is highly desired.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Experience with strategic sourcing, outsourcing, global sourcing, sourcing consulting services, supplier management and contract/risk management.
  • Knowledge and use of relevant PC software applications and skills to use them effectively.
